1. The Nature of the Reference
Redwood City Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, indexes, and historical collections concerning people who live or lived in Redwood City, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use these pages only for a lawful purpose. The reference and anything reached through it may not be used to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions involving credit, employment, tenant, or insurance matters
- Scrape, copy, or republish page content at scale
- Interfere with page operation, security, or availability
3. No Consumer Reporting Function
Redwood City Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Neither these pages nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. None may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.
4. External Services
County portals, state systems, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools set their own terms and privacy rules. Their content, availability, prices, and data practices are outside our control.
5. No Warranty
The pages are offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that information is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that an outside portal will work or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of these pages or an outside resource, including a decision based on a record found through a link.
7. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from misuse of the pages or a violation of these terms.
8. Copyright and Page Materials
Original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. A link to a page and a short attributed quotation are welcome. Reposting a full page or copying the collection of pages in a systematic way is not permitted.
9. Revisions
New terms may be posted here from time to time. Continued use after a revision is posted means the revised terms are accepted.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms or abuses the pages. The operators may take that step at their discretion and without advance notice.
11. California Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, governs requests to public custodians and does not make this private reference a records office. California consumer privacy obligations may also apply under the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, when its coverage reaches a particular business.
12. Severability
If a court finds one part unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
